Relics and relic expeditions
Relics are unidentified Norgan spoils that become usable rewards through appraisal. In DD2's 2026 Dark Arisen expansion, bring them to Jiera in the Norgandian Settlement; this is not the first game's Bitterblack Isle purification system.
This guide covers the 2026 expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2. Compare it with the 2013 Dark Arisen game.
The loop Capcom described
Capcom's launch announcement calls the new play a loot-based relic expedition cycle. Fextralife's Relic page describes Spoils, also called Norgan Relics, as unidentified drops. You appraise them in the Norgandian Settlement and receive weapons, armor, or skills with random parameters.
The 31 July 2026 Q&A uses the name Relic Appraisal and says it happens on Norgan's open map, not inside a single dungeon. Rarity differs between results. Capcom has not published the parameter pool, so this page does not invent ranges.
Collect, appraise and compare
- Reach Norgandian Settlement and complete Relics of the Past, the appraisal unlock listed in Game8's expansion guide.
- Search Norgan and defeat its enemies for spoils; the unappraised drop is not yet a fixed weapon or armor piece.
- Return to Jiera for appraisal. Compare each revealed item's vocation requirements, parameters and skills against your equipped gear.
- Keep useful results for your build. Do not assume another player's screenshot guarantees the same roll or that repeating one enemy guarantees a named relic.
- After Reaching the Far Shore, take eligible appraised gear to Hal for appearance changes without replacing its parameters.
Questions
Where do I appraise a relic?
In the Norgandian Settlement, on the Norgan map.
Are relic stats fixed?
No. Fextralife describes random parameters. Treat any single number you see in a video as one roll.
