Norgan, the far north
Norgan is the snowy northern setting of Forsaken Dominion in DD2's 2026 Dark Arisen expansion, not Bitterblack Isle from the first game. Follow Eir's story, then use the Norgandian Settlement for appraisal and equipment services.
This guide covers the 2026 expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2. Compare it with the 2013 Dark Arisen game.
What the region is
The official store describes Norgan as a long-abandoned northern region where Eir investigates the undying Fallen Dragon. CAPCOM recommends level 40 at the beginning, not a mandatory entry level. Lost Rites is a separate route on the base-game map, recommended from level 20.
The Norgandian Settlement is the hub for relic appraisal and for transmog. Game8 says you talk to Hal and choose Tailor Equipment after the quest Reaching the Far Shore. That quest appears during the sixth expansion main quest, Soul Searching, when Jiera asks you to deliver a book to Hal.
First visit checklist
- Start Chilling Tidings through Brant in Vernworth and follow its quest marker into the region.
- At the Norgandian Settlement, complete Relics of the Past to open Jiera's appraisal service, according to Game8.
- Collect spoils during exploration, return for appraisal and compare the resulting gear before equipping it.
- Follow Jiera's later delivery to Hal during Soul Searching, complete Reaching the Far Shore, then choose Tailor Equipment for eligible Norgan gear.
- Use the in-game map and region-specific travel options. Lost Rites entrances are on the base-game and Unmoored World maps, not a set of twelve Norgan caves.
Questions
Where do I appraise relics?
In the Norgandian Settlement. The producer's Q&A called the system Relic Appraisal and placed it on the open map, not in one dungeon.
Is there a Norgan armor list with fixed stats?
Appraised Norgan equipment has random parameters. Compare the actual item roll; Lost Rites chest rewards form a separate named reward list.
