Dragon's Dogma 2 endings

During Legacy, riding the dragon to the arena leads to the standard ending. Using the Empowered Godsbane Blade on yourself while clinging over its glowing heart opens the Unmoored World, not the final scene by itself.

From the coronation to the true-ending route

Prepare before the decision

Finish vulnerable side quests and retain a pre-Legacy recovery save. The September 2, 2026 system has three adventure slots and separate Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save; loading the inn save no longer deletes the other types. Inspect the actual timestamps and do not assume one slot is a backup of another.

The final Seafloor Shrine beacon starts the ending sequence. It is not a harmless switch after which normal exploration continues. New Game Plus begins a new cycle rather than restoring unfinished quests in the old world.

Questions

Why does the ending keep repeating?

Riding to the arena repeats the dragon fight. To change the route, speak to the Pathfinder at the coronation and use Godsbane over the heart during the repeated flight.

Does entering the Unmoored World finish the true ending?

No. Complete the endgame objectives and final Seafloor Shrine sequence to reach its conclusion.
