Trickster: Luz unlock and pawn-support build
Speak to Luz's spirit at the Reverent Shrine in Battahl to unlock Trickster. This Arisen-only censer vocation diverts aggression to an illusion and strengthens pawns instead of relying on direct weapon damage.
Unlock and maister: two versions of Luz
Luz's spirit inside the Reverent Shrine unlocks the vocation, including before the main story leads you there in Flickering Shadows. Visit a vocation guild afterward to select Trickster and equip a censer.
For the maister reward, climb the ladder outside the shrine and find the real Luz on the roof. Speak to her for Theurgist's Rite, which teaches Dragon's Delusion. If the encounter has not triggered, return as the shrine's story events progress. Do not confuse this second meeting with simply speaking to the spirit.

How the build wins a fight
Create the simulacrum with Effigial Incense before drawing enemies in. Position it away from the Arisen, apply smoke to redirect attention, and keep the decoy close enough to maintain it. Repair it with Mending Vapor while recalling it. Getting hit or losing the decoy can collapse the setup.
Hire actual damage dealers: a Warrior or Thief plus a Sorcerer or Archer, with healing support where needed. Aromatic Resurgence drains allied health, so watch the party instead of treating the buff as free damage. Illusory floors are traps, not solid bridges for the Arisen.
Censer Strength helps draw attention and Magick supports simulacrum durability according to the vocation guide. Ascendancy and Sustainment can support a pawn-led team; Thew and defensive augments serve exploration and survival.
Buoyant Brume is a core skill added on September 2, 2026: press jump again in the air to float briefly. It is not a new vocation or proof that every gap is safe. Capcom also enabled ranged pawns to attack through Delusory Screen illusions.

Can Trickster deal normal weapon damage?
Its censer kit is designed around diversion and pawn support, not direct damage. Bring damage-dealing pawns; consumable spells or environmental attacks are fallback options.
